What is immersion program

Those who are interested in English education and those who are interested in overseas teaching methods may know the term "immersion education".

Immersion education is a method of learning a foreign language by using a foreign language as a means to study subjects other than language.

At SIS, we will make it a habit to use English by continuing to listen, think, and answer in English.

The shortcut to learning English is to learn Japanese.

Immersion education is an educational method of learning a foreign language as a means, not as a subject.

Immersion means "immerse" in Japanese. Immersion education involves immersing yourself in a foreign language environment from an early age and studying subjects and learning a foreign language at the same time.

If it is a language other than your mother tongue, it is called immersion education, and in Japan, what is done in English is generally called immersion education.

Immersion education was first introduced in 1965 in a Canadian kindergarten.

After that, it was introduced in the United States in the 1970s and expanded mainly in Europe and the United States.

In Japan, full-scale immersion education was introduced for the first time in 1992 at a primary school in Shizuoka.

At SIS, we have adopted an English immersion program, and we will acquire knowledge and concepts by "learning in English" rather than "learning English".
